Multipack shrink wrapping route
Multipacks normally need film containment around a group rather than a sealed bag around a single item. An automatic sleeve sealer with a shrink tunnel is therefore a common route for bottles, cans, trays, cartons and other grouped products.
The line needs consistent product presentation. The pack must arrive square, stable and spaced correctly so the film sleeve and tunnel result are repeatable.
Automation requirements
Automatic operation is most valuable when the same pack format is produced regularly and output justifies conveyors and controls. The infeed can be straight-through or side-feed depending on how the products are collated.
The specification must include real pack dimensions, not just product dimensions. The final pack size determines film width, tunnel aperture and conveyor transfer.
Integration with production
Automatic multipack wrapping may sit after filling, capping, labelling or product grouping equipment. Upstream variation can affect wrapper performance, so the full production route should be reviewed.
Lancing can advise on sleeve sealing, shrink tunnel and conveyor integration to suit the site layout.
