When semi automatic sleeve sealing is suitable
A semi automatic sleeve sealer can be a practical route when production runs are moderate, products change frequently or an operator is already involved in the packing process. It can reduce the cost and complexity of the installation compared with a fully automatic collation system.
The key is to confirm whether the operator can safely and consistently present the pack to the sealing area. For bottles, cans and cartons, pack stability matters because loose items can move during transfer into the shrink tunnel.
What to check before buying
- Expected packs per hour and peak demand.
- How the operator will collate, square and present the pack.
- Whether trays are used or the bundle is trayless.
- Film type, film width and how film rolls are changed.
- Heat tunnel belt width, height clearance and temperature control.
| Semi automatic | Best for lower volumes, frequent changeovers and operator-assisted pack presentation. |
|---|---|
| Automatic | Best for repeated pack formats, conveyor-fed lines and higher output requirements. |
