Transit packs prioritise containment and handling integrity, but they still need an agreed standard for seal condition, film damage, bundle squareness and product protection. A pack that looks acceptable at the tunnel exit may fail when lifted, accumulated, palletised or transported.

Test the route that the pack will actually follow

Use representative product weight, tray or pad, production film and normal bundle spacing. After cooling, transfer the pack across the intended conveyors, accumulation points and manual or automated handling steps. Check the seal, corners, base, openings and any contact with sharp carton or tray edges.

Where several formats share the line, include the heaviest, least stable and most heat-sensitive packs. Record accepted settings and retain a reference pack or photographs so future film or format changes can be compared against the same standard.
