A twin-roll sleeve wrapper forms the sleeve from two PE film webs
A twin-roll sleeve wrapper uses separate upper and lower film rolls to wrap a product or bundle before the film is sealed and sent through a shrink tunnel.
The route is useful when a grouped pack needs a strong sleeve rather than a fully enclosed bag. The exact machine configuration, film width, seal position and tunnel setting have to be matched to the finished bundle, not selected from the product name alone.
What to check before choosing a twin-roll route
| Check | Why it matters | Evidence to provide |
|---|---|---|
| Pack width and height | Controls film width, sleeve overlap and tunnel aperture. | Measured product and finished bundle dimensions. |
| Bundle stability | Unstable packs can move before or during sealing. | Photos, samples and intended pack pattern. |
| Film roll route | Roll width, core, tracking and tension affect repeatable sealing. | Film supplier data and current roll specification if available. |
| Seal position | The seal must be strong without contacting vulnerable product edges. | Required pack presentation and handling route. |
| Tunnel loading | Airflow and dwell must suit the film and bundle mass. | Target output, spacing and downstream transfer details. |
When another shrink wrapping route may be better
A twin-roll sleeve wrapper may not be the best answer where the pack needs full enclosure, a decorative shrink sleeve label, high-quality individual retail presentation or a very light unsupported product that cannot remain stable before the seal is made. In those cases, Lancing will normally review the pack objective before confirming whether a sleeve sealer, L-sealer, sleeve applicator or another shrink wrapping route is the safer specification.
Questions buyers ask about twin-roll sleeve wrappers
Does a twin-roll sleeve wrapper need two film rolls?
In a twin-roll sleeve wrapper, separate film webs normally feed above and below the product path so the machine can create a sleeve around the grouped pack before sealing.
The approved roll data should be checked with the supplier because roll width, core size, film gauge and tracking all affect repeatability.
Is a twin-roll sleeve wrapper the same as an L-sealer?
No. A twin-roll sleeve wrapper is normally used for grouped packs and leaves open ends before tunnel shrinking, while an L-sealer creates a different style of enclosure around the product.
The correct choice depends on whether the buyer wants bundle holding, full enclosure, retail presentation or transit stability.
