Sleeve wrapper or sleeve sealer?
The terms sleeve wrapper and sleeve sealer are often used for similar machine routes. In practice, the buyer needs to understand how film is presented around the product, how the sleeve is sealed and how the pack is shrunk after sealing.
When specifying machinery, use the product details and final pack requirements rather than the name alone. A bottle multipack, a tray pack and a carton bundle may all need a sleeve wrapper, but the infeed and tunnel requirements can be different.
Common sleeve wrapper applications
Sleeve wrappers are used for transit packs, beverage multipacks, trays, boxes, cartons, tubs and grouped products that need film containment rather than a fully closed bag. PE shrink film is often considered where strength and transit handling are important.
For repeated production, automatic sleeve wrapper systems can reduce manual handling and deliver a more consistent pack. For lower volumes, a semi-automatic route may be more practical.
How to prepare an enquiry
Send the pack size, product weight, number of products in each pack, photographs and target output. Mention whether the product is trayless, in a tray, in cartons or already grouped before it reaches the machine.
If multiple formats will be run, include the smallest and largest pack. The machine, guides and tunnel must be selected so changeover remains practical.
